Kohler Wisconsin – A Weekend Getaway

This post is in partnership with The American Club. All opinions here are my own.

Happy Sunday everyone! I seriously cannot believe there are 3 sleeps left until Christmas. I’m SO excited to soak in these last few days doing all the Christmas activities with my family. But before I completely sign off I wanted to share our amazing weekend getaway last week in Kohler Wisconsin.

A Weekend Getaway at Kohler Wisconsin

For those who missed my stories, last Saturday my husband I and snuck away to Kohler Wisconsin for a quick one night stay at The American Club. The American Club was originally built over 100 years ago as housing for immigrant workers for the Kohler Company.

Surrounding The American Club, the Village of Kohler is one of the first planned communities in America, part of a 50-year master plan created with the Olmsted Brothers, designers of New York’s Central Park. Kohler truly makes for an amazing weekend getaway, which lucky for us Chicago residents is only 2 hours away!

The American Club also happens to be the Midwest’s only AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star resort with luxurious accommodations and plenty of activities for the whole family. An added perk, the Kohler Waters Spa at the American Club is recognized with a 5-stay award by Forbes Travel, one of 64 in the world.

The American Club

When you arrive at The American Club it’s like stepping back in time.

The grounds and facilities are so beautiful, and you’re greeted by bellmen in top hats and tailcoats.

As we walked to our room, we immediately took notice to all the cozy little spots around the hotel. Beautiful courtyards lit up with twinkly lights, heat warmers and ice bowling.

Cozy common areas with fireplaces, and the cutest little greenhouse coffeeshop.

The hotel rooms themselves were equally beautiful and have amazing bathrooms featuring what else but beautiful Kohler fixtures.

We decided to head to the hotel lobby to grab a drink and relax by the fire. Our timing was perfect because they were setting up for live Christmas music with complimentary tea and spiked eggnog and yummy snacks.

Whistling Strait

That night we had dinner reservations at Whistling Straits, which is the restaurant located on the renowned golf course about 15 minutes away from the hotel. Whistling Straits also happens to be the location of the 2020 Ryder Cup for any golf fans out there.

It was too dark to see the course, but our waitress said it’s absolutely beautiful and in the summer you can have drinks on the patio and watch the golfers.

Greenhouse Coffee Shop

The next morning we woke up and head straight to the Greenhouse for Baileys lattes to start the day. The courtyard surrounding the Greenhouse is so beautiful, I can only imagine how lovely it is in the summer time with all the fun porch swings.

Kohler Waters Spa

Next up were our spa appointments and we headed to Kohler Waters Spa. From soothing water-inspired treatment rooms to inviting respite spaces to the relaxation pool, Kohler Waters Spa provides well-being around every corner. The enclosed rooftop deck with whirlpool, fireplace and lounge offers a year-round relaxing escape.

My husband and I both took advantage of the Uniquely Yours Massage, where you work together with your massage therapist to create a custom massage unique to your needs. Afterwards we met in the communal pool area and relaxed by their beautiful waterfall feature.

Craverie Chocolateir Cafe

At this point we were starving so it was time for breakfast at Craverie Chocolateir Cafe. It’s the cutest little spot on a beautiful lake, where we enjoyed cappuccinos and avocado toast. Don’t forget to splurge on a dark chocolate sea salt croissant, it’s definitely worth it!

Kohler Design Center

It was about time to head home, but we knew we couldn’t leave without making one last stop at the Kohler Design Center. If you’re interior design obsessed like me, well then this is a must see. You can see all the Kohler products in fully designed bathrooms and kitchens. Trust me, one space is more beautiful than the next!

We had the most amazing getaway at Kohler and The American Club, and are already planning a return visit in the summer. This would also make a fantastic girls weekend or even group couples trip.
