Coffee Table Styling How To

Coffee table styling elevates the look & feel of a living space. It adds layers and texture to a room while making it feel intentional and put-together.

Also, let us be real – it needs to be functional – a place for things like a remote or refreshment. By following these basic guidelines and using thoughtful décor, you can create a beautiful & functional display for your coffee table!  Have fun with it and refresh the display every season!

Coffee table styling, glass vase with affordable faux stems, wooden bowl, and pretty sea hued bead make the perfect styling combo.

Here are our tried-and-true coffee table styling how-to tips:

-Start with a tall object. A vase of greenery or florals are a great way to break up the space and infuse some life into the room!

-Next, place a tray, stack books/boxes or add a wooden bowl. A tray is a great way to organize items on your coffee table, whether decorative, functional or both! As a rule of thumb, find a tray that is at least half the size of your tabletop (if not smaller) and be sure to move it off to one side (not centered) so you still have room for the necessary drinks & such! Natural elements such as a wooden bowl can add personality to the room while also being functional. Books can add character and are great conversation starters!

-For a round table you’ll want to style in a triangle – this will create a curated, well-placed look that is pleasing to the eye. Have a square table, can still work in a triangle or keep it symmetric. Layer in the décor faves – coasters, beads & candles are a great “go-to”. Candles add mood & dimension to a flat surface. When in doubt – always add more beads!

-Remember, be sure to mix up height & textures to keep your coffee table balanced. Vary the scale of display items and stick to 3 groupings – tall, short and mid-height.
